Torrance, CA — Dr. Michael Fulbright, a dentist in Torrance, recently passed the written portion of the Accreditation Exam for the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), the first step to receiving accreditation from the organization and the highest level of recognition. The written exam is designed to challenge each dental professional’s knowledge of cosmetic dentistry techniques and principles. Dr. Fulbright says he is excited to move forward in his pursuit of offering the highest quality care for his patients and looks forward to expanding his knowledge about procedures from porcelain veneers to teeth whitening.
The Accreditation Written Exam was administered at the recently-held 28th Annual AACD Scientific Session this past May in Washington, DC. At his Torrance cosmetic dentistry practice, Dr. Fulbright says he is thankful to return home to his community having completed such a rigorous test of his ability to perform aesthetic procedures. He says he hopes his efforts help put patients’ minds at ease whether they are in the chair for a routine checkup or a comprehensive smile makeover.
“When you go through the accreditation process, it makes you critique work like you’ve never thought it could be critiqued before. It pushes you to become that much better and see little things that you normally wouldn’t look for. Ultimately, the patient benefits the most because being accredited allows you to pay more attention detail and give them the results they’re looking for.”
Specified as an advanced credentialing program, the AACD Accreditation process encourages further education, interaction with leading minds in cosmetic dentistry, and the opportunity for professional growth. In order to achieve the distinguished title, dentists must complete hundreds of hours of continued education and dedicate themselves to careful adherence to AACD standards and a resolve to produce excellent results in their work. Dr. Fulbright says he is honored to be among the cosmetic dentists striving for the best in their industry and hopes it serves as further motivation for treating his patients with the best care possible.
As he draws closer to the final steps of the AACD Accreditation, Dr. Fulbright reminds patients of the importance of seeking a cosmetic dentist who has undergone the proper training and qualifications. He says he encourages any patient considering a cosmetic dental procedure to first consult with a dedicated and experienced practice before settling on a treatment.
“It’s important to me to achieve AACD accreditation because I can show patients and peers that I have gone through this grilling process and stand out amongst other dentists in community. When people look for cosmetic dentists, they will come to us based on our credentials and know they can get the results they are looking for.”
