New Beauty Live Features Los Angeles Area Cosmetic Dentist Giving Patient a Smile Makeover

In a recent New Beauty Live Big Reveal episode, Dr. Michael Fulbright aims to take years off a patient’s appearance with porcelain dental veneers.

Redondo Beach, CA — The first episode of New Beauty Live’s Big Reveal, a popular makeover video series showcasing beauty secrets and trends, follows 64-year-old Susie in her quest for a stunning new smile. In the episode, she contacts Redondo Beach dentist Michael Fulbright, DDS of Fulbright Cosmetic & Reconstructive Dentistry to help restore her smile and, ultimately, her self-confidence.

In the Big Reveal video, recently featured on the practice’s blog, the cameras document every step of the process as Susie, who admits to neglecting the health of her teeth, sits down for a consultation. Dr. Fulbright reveals, “She’s had a lot of disease in the past with her lower teeth, so she’s lost a lot of her lower front anterior teeth. Her upper teeth are worn down due to grinding so that makes them appear shorter. And it also makes her look older.”

After carefully examining her teeth, Dr. Fulbright recommends porcelain veneers to remake Susie’s smile. “They’re really life-like and we can change the width, length, and most importantly the color,” he explains. “[It could take] at least 10 years off her face. One millimeter of tooth structure can change somebody five years pretty easily, so I bet we are going to give you a good 10 year facelift.”

First, he creates mock veneers so Susie can get an idea of what her new teeth will look like. Next, a specialist at the practice takes an optical 3D digital impression of Susie’s teeth and designs her porcelain veneers using CEREC® technology, a system that can create customized dental restorations in a single office visit. After her veneers are colored and glazed to precisely match her surrounding teeth, Dr. Fulbright makes the final application. The entire process is completed in one day, and Susie tears up at the sight of her new smile.

Dr. Fulbright says he is pleased to educate others about veneer restorations on the Big Reveal. He also emphasizes how routine oral exams and general dental care can work to prevent dental issues from developing into serious health problems, while cosmetic and restorative dentistry can often be exactly what patients need to improve long-standing problems and enhance the appearance of their smile.
